To create your own collections (known as "curations") so that they appear to your students, follow these steps:

  1. Log into OverDrive Marketplace (you will need your Marketplace login credentials)
  2. Select Organize Published Collections from the Curate drop-down menu
  3. Change the "Customize Advantage Collections" setting to Yes

When this setting is turned on, you'll be able to:

  • edit, rearrange, or  delete drafts of the shared collection's curations (without impacting them)
  • create new curations to display in Sora

Also of note:

  • any curated collection from the shared collection that is not deleted or edited will automatically be updated if/when there are updates
  • automated collections (Available Now, New audiobook additions, New eBook additions) will NOT be updated when new content is available

To continue building your own curation:

  1. Select Standard Curation from the Curate tab
  2. Click on the green Create Standard Curation button
  3. To create a hand selected collection, choose Curated for the collection type, then name the collection, and click to pin the collection (this is so you'll be able to add titles to it)
  4. Type in Sora-Explore for the Publishing Location.
  5.  Search for titles to add in the top search bar. You can also use the Advanced Search to locate titles based on ISBNs, subjects, and more.
  6. Save the draft and review it.
  7. When you're ready, click Publish.
  8. If you have multiple curations, you can choose the display order in the Organize Published Curations section
  9. The curation will display indefinitely until you change it or delete it (which will set it back to draft form)
  10. (Note) You cannot add new titles to a published curation. To do this, you will need to set the curation back to draft form, pin the curation, add new titles, and then republish the curation.

If you change the "Customize Advantage Collections" setting back to No, you will lose any customized curations and your site's Sora page will be reset to match the Sora page of the shared collection.

Interested in refreshing your site's page with curations from the shared collection but don't want to lose your own curations? Put your own curations in draft, set “Customize Advantage Collections” to “No”, get the updated lists from the shared collection, turn back on customization, and republish your curations.
