BiblioTemps are hired under the temporary staffing program operated by the Massachusetts Library System (MLS). Our BiblioTemps employees are classified as W2 employees meaning that Social Security and Medicare taxes will be withheld from their paycheck.  MLS will be responsible for payroll taxes.

BiblioTemps employees are generally not in continuous employment and may work varied hours. For this reason, they are not eligible for most employment benefits.

BiblioTemps employees may be eligible for -

  • Sick Time

  • Jury Duty

  • Paid Family Medical Leave

  • Workers Compensation

  • Employee Assistance Program

BiblioTemps employees are not eligible for -

  • Paid holidays

  • Vacation days

  • Personal days

  • Paid bereavement leave

  • Unpaid leave of absence
