Q. The databases are asking for a login and password on the iPad. What's going on?


If you're in a classroom and this is affecting all of the devices, first check the settings for Safari. Here's how:

1. Go to Settings > Safari > Privacy & Security > Blocking Cookies

If you set “Block Cookies” to “Allow from Current Website Only,” the geolocation doesn't work and you'll be asked for a login/password. This is how school iPads are often configured.

 if you set “Block Cookies” to “Allow from Websites I Visit,” the geolocation functionality will work and users will not be asked for a login/password.


If this does not solve the problem, check the external IP address on the device and compare it to the one on a stationary computer. If the numbers are different, please submit a support ticket so that this can be fixed.
