Indie Massachusetts and SELF-e are two avenues built on the same SELF-e collaboration for self-published authors to freely submit their works.
Submissions pass through three stages of review:
1. The first is a technical review that ensures that the eBook is well-formatted.
2. The second is a quick content review that ensures that the eBook is comprehensible, written in English and appropriate for a wide audience in Massachusetts. Books that pass this test are included in the Indie Massachusetts module. (The Commonwealth eBook Collections Steering Committee governs the statewide eBook program in Massachusetts and reserves the right to adapt this decision based on submission quality.)
3. The third is an editorial review for inclusion in the SELF-e LJ Select national module.
Because there is no charge for this service to authors, reviewers are unable to provide direct feedback to authors on their decisions. Authors are encouraged to speak with expert reviewers/editors if needed.
